Chronic neck and shoulder pain to February member of the month.

Rohan was previously training at a commercial gym and was seeing good results, but it wasn’t until a friend suggested that he tried Body By Brando that he really took off. 

His journey began with chronic neck and shoulder issues and he admittedly never thought he would be able to train without pain and just accepted that this was how things would always be… 

Fast forward a few short months and he is now king of the BUILD sessions and doesn’t miss a session.

It’s also rumoured that his skinfolds are way better than the Paddington coaches, however, these cannot be confirmed or denied.

We asked Rohan what his challenges were and why he decided to shop around.  

“for me personally, whenever I was at the gym, I would find it really hard to follow a routine… I just stuck to what I liked and neglected parts I didn’t”. 

(We’ve all been there – training by yourself is super hard).

When Rohan started, he had advised the coaches of his previous injury battles and asked us for help. We supplemented his program with our BulletProof shoulder program which enables us to get him up to speed in the areas he had been neglecting. 

His adherence to the shoulder program has yielded phenomenal results and has managed to get on top of his niggling shoulders and neck pain through diligently completing our loaded mobility and prehab drills before and after class. 

We asked him what his key reasons for getting started were and why he wanted some help. 

 “Obviously everyone wants a good physique, but getting the right form and pain-free was massive for me. I’ve always hurt myself at the gym so having someone show me exactly what’s right, what’s wrong and what to avoid.  That’s what’s been the best thing for me as well”.

Pain-free joints are powerful joints. Attaining pain-free movement is the key to unlocking your true potential.

 

People often feel intimidated by how good our members look and move, and it’s often a point of anxiety and apprehension. We asked Rohan how he managed the nerves when he first started. 

“When you watch a class you do have those apprehensive thoughts and self-doubt. At one point I thought to myself, shit. I can’t do that”. 

But when I got into my first Pt session and class I immediately felt fine”. 

We know what it’s like to join a new gym. So we make it as smooth as possible by providing 1:1 fundamental sessions to help our new members feel confident and competent in the movement standards before jumping into a class. 

Every year, BBB takes four weeks to “up the ante” on training and nutrition. The idea behind the Feb Shred was to get members focused after a hectic silly season and create some new training and nutrition habits. 

It’s one thing to sign up for the Shred, but it’s another to follow through with it. Rohan absolutely killed it this year. 

 “I’ve never ever looked as good as I think I looked. It was really tough not eating as much as I wanted to, but it was really good to have a goal. I’ve always wanted to get a six-pack, so having the community support made it easy…  well not really easy but made it more enjoyable”. 

Rohan achieved awesome results with us during the Feb Shred, dropping body from 78kgs @ 13.2% at down to at 74.7kg @ 8.5% and now has the best abs in the eastern suburbs. 

“When you come here, everything is done for you. You do what is set for you and means you can’t neglect the things you need to do. You can’t skip leg day”.

All you gotta do is show up and do it and that’s what’s made the biggest difference for me.”

So obviously something had to change for Rohan to reap these incredible results. We asked how his experience with BodyByBrando differed from other gyms?

Rather than us trying to preach about training all the time, we love asking our member of the month what they would say to somebody who is on the fence about joining?

“just put yourself out of your comfort zone and do it. There’s nothing to lose and only something to gain. You can only get better just step out of the comfort zone and try something new because it pays off if you’re committed to it”
